(sung to the tune of the Christmas song "Do You See What I See")
Do you see what I see?
A roofer, a roofer
Up on my garage
Oh what a happy daaaayyyyyy
Oh what a happy day!
Yes, folks, that is indeed my lovely brother bringing shingles that have been sitting on my driveway for 6 months up onto the roof!!! That is a sight to behold. Praise the Lord!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!
I know how long you have waited for this day!! WoooooHooooooo
is the garage just being built? I need background info! (Congrats btw!)
it's a good thing you captured this on camera or I may not have believed you. LOL
Louise - thank you, thank you, you're right, I've been waiting a long time.
Val - no, our garage actually went up in fall and we've been waiting for the roofing to be done since then. My dad owns a roofing company and both my brothers work for him...so you can understand my confusion about how long it's taken to get done!!!! It's like the cobbler's children not having shoes, the roofer's daughter/sister can't get a roof!
Leesh - yes, I know it's unbelievable, I didn't think anyone would believe me, so I took the picture.
It's wonderful to hear the nail gun going, is'nt it? I almost could not believe my eyes either when I came home and saw him on your roof. I think I was almost as excited about it as you are!
Tara
Tara - you're just excited because now you don't have to look at our naked roof in your back yard!!!! : )
So, um, I'm guessing you guys are building a house?
I haven't been reading your blog as long as some of your other readers, so I'm not as up to speed as they are.
Whatever's going on: I'm glad you're getting shingles!
Ok, I promise I'm not stupid (in reference to the above comment of mine). If I just read the other comments (instead of skimming right over them), I would have known you're building a house! :)
Robin - we built our house a year ago and we put up our garage in fall. Now once it's done, we're putting our house up for sale and building a new house.
I can say , without a doubt, I completely relate and empathise.
I live in a house that's 100 years old. It went through a major "over hall" and there are still projects that are not quite finished, and some that have to wait. Even the smallest things that get finished bring me joy. I get it! I understand "oh happy day". I am happy for you :)!
Well good for you. How nice to have the a job done...it seems you waited long enough.
YAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!
