What the Ham?

Okay I have a beef...ham...whatever. Why does EVERYONE serve ham at Easter around here? Why? All 3 family gatherings this year (and every year) are serving ham! We don't even like ham!!! It's so annoying! I'm not even supposed to eat pork with this cleanse and so I'm going to be bringing my own food to all 3 gatherings! That's ridiculous. Okay, I feel better now that I got that off my chest. Maybe we'll just have to start our own traditions...bunny anyone? : )

LOL....
It would be great if you started your own tradition. Nothing wrong with that! There is probably a reason the ham is so popular, but it's ok to make it your own.
We had macademia crusted salmon one year; it was delicious.

I have to tell you, when I was young, my parents killed all varieties of animals on our farm and fed them to us. Cows, chickens, lambs, rabbitts. We ate them all. So one day, my parents made rabbit for dinner. I started eating and then my brothers--all five of them--started telling me it was dog meat I was eating and which dog in the neighborhood it was and on and on and on. I knew they were lying to me, but I couldn't handle it then and I can't handle it now. I still shudder internally at the thought of eating something from a rabbit. So funny!

Hey Erin,
As a non-pork eater I sympathize with you. My mom does NOT make ham for Easter. We usually have a big brunch with lots of cold foods and we always have bunny cake!

Okay I won't tell you what I'm making, but I bet you can guess. So sorry about it. I hope you have a nice Easter.

We had ham, too! Who knows why that tradition ever began?! For the first time, I had ham that tasted wonderfully and finished the leftover given to us for lunch today. I ate some for you ;c) hehe
